What inspired my Senior Project was wanting to create a booking company for local hardcore and punk bands on Long Island, NY. Many people don’t realize how strong this scene is or how talented these bands are. I want to show everyone what they’re missing out on because the energy, connection, and creativity found in the Long Island punk and hardcore community deserve to be seen and heard.
Punk Haven Booking will feature ticket sales, band pages with photos and videos, and updates on upcoming shows to help fans discover Long Island hardcore and punk bands. Since most local shows are only posted on social media and rarely appear in search results, the site makes finding events and artists much easier.
The first persona is the DIY Punk Showrunner, a band member or organizer who books shows and understands behind-the-scenes work. Interviews revealed challenges like flaky bands, venue competition, and difficulty finding new artists outside the genre. Booking varies by location, though mutual connections make contacting bands easier.
The second persona is the Hardcore Mosher, fans who frequently attend local shows and know many Long Island bands. They discover music through friends and opening acts, support musicians they know, and enjoy genres like pop punk, shoegaze, and emo. Favorite venues include VFW Massapequa, Sand City South, Amityville Music Hall, and Lithology Brewery.
The third persona is the Rookie Concertgoer, someone with limited knowledge of Long Island hardcore and punk shows. They may know a few bands through friends, attend mostly large venues, and avoid moshing due to discomfort. Often new to concerts, they enjoy performances from the sidelines and are eager to explore the scene.

Miles To Go Presents is a Long Island and NYC based concert promotion and booking company that organizes shows for hardcore, punk, metal, and alternative bands. Created by people deeply rooted in the local scene, it handles everything from booking lineups to promoting events at venues across the region. Miles To Go is essentially the modern continuation of East Coast Collective, carrying on the tradition of bringing both local and touring heavy-music acts to Long Island. It’s one of the main forces keeping the LI underground music community active, connected, and consistently filled with new shows.
Golden Hour Booking is a Long Island–based alternative booking collective that organizes and promotes gigs for underground, punk, and alternative bands. They describe themselves as an “alt-booking collective” focused on putting together well-curated, high-energy shows. With the tagline “We only book GOLDEN GIGS,” they emphasize quality lineups and a community-driven approach rather than mainstream, commercial events. Golden Hour Booking contributes to the local music scene by supporting emerging artists, creating spaces for DIY shows, and helping connect fans with new talent across Long Island and the surrounding area.
